Students honored for Herdsman Award

From left: Marina Powell. Allison Gordon, Dusty Jett, Logan Jett, SEMS FFA advisor Myria Shipman, Lauren Miller, Dallas Dasher and Gerald Kessler. Not pictured were: Dakota Scott, Aaron Phillips, Ryan Weredyk, Olivia Laverenz and Logan Conaway. The team received a banner and $200. They were judged on the educational value and presentation of their display, how neat they kept their barn and overall behavior of the students.

The Effingham County Board of Education recognized the FFA group representing South Effingham schools for receiving the Herdsman Award in February at the State Fair in Perry.
