Dear Editor,
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the City of Springfield for sponsoring the First Annual Effingham BBQ Cook Off. I am very impressed with how quickly the Mayor, City Manager, and Police Chief worked together at last minute to make it work. I have received excellent feedback from both participants and attendees of the inaugural event. It was, truthfully, a learning experience, which means that the next one will be even better.
I am hoping to sit down with all the participants soon and begin planning our 2011 BBQ Festival. Both positive and negative feedback on all matters will improve our planning and organizational strategies.
A special thank you goes also to John Henry with the IDA and Tess with the Effingham Chamber of Commerce for their help in putting this together.
