Purnell, Woodcock complete CBA school

POSTED: October 11, 2010 7:32 p.m.
Tammy Purnell and Lisa Woodcock with Citizens Bank of Effingham graduated Oct. 7 from the Community Bankers Association of Georgia’s Compliance School, which is part of the Community Bankers University.

CBA developed this four-day school in conjunction with Professional Bank Services, Inc., a consulting and educational services firm based in Louisville, Ky. The school is offered once a year and is designed for all community bank staff members who have compliance responsibilities. The school offers a unique, broad-based curriculum with topic selection largely influenced by those areas currently being emphasized by regulators and focuses on federal lending and deposit laws and regulations. The school also includes a session regarding compliance management and customer information security.

“We believe this school provides a unique interaction training environment to assist community banks in meeting their compliance responsibilities,” said Carolyn Brown, president and CEO of the Community Bankers Association.

The CBA represents more than 250 community banks and approximately 225 associate members.
