Springfield Elementary to hold ‘Wax Museum’

POSTED: February 14, 2011 5:58 p.m.

Fourth graders at Springfield Elementary will become frozen in time, so to speak, on Friday, when they pose as figures in a wax museum representing the historical characters they have spent several weeks researching.

From 8:30-10 a.m. and again from 10:30-11:30 a.m. the students, dressed as the character they researched, will pose without moving.

Those who visit the “Wax Museum” will stand in front of the historical “wax” figures and listen as the students speak, in first person narrative, for two minutes about their characters.

This unique idea was chosen as a culminating project on research methods, one of the subjects required to meet the fourth grade Georgia Performance Standards.
