With the snip of a ribbon, Janice Ford and Effingham Hospital hope women in the Springfield and north Effingham County area will take advantage of an opportunity to improve their health.

The hospital opened the Effingham Family Medicine at Twenty-One on Monday morning, with Ford, an advanced practice nurse practitioner, in charge. The clinic is open to all ranges of patients, but Ford and nurse practitioner Anna Bannister will have a special focus on women’s health issues.

Opening the clinic means availability and accessibility, Ford said.
