Neidlinger steps down from council

Longtime Springfield City Council member Max Neidlinger is stepping down from his post, effective immediately.

Neidlinger submitted his resignation to city council and council members approved it by a 4-1 vote Tuesday night. Council member Charles Hinely cast the lone “no” vote.

“I don’t want to see him resign,” Hinely said. “So I’m voting ‘no.’”
