COVINGTON—Members of the Effingham County FFA chapter attended the Georgia FFA Association’s Greenhand Jamboree on March 4-5 at the Georgia FFA/FCCLA Center.

At the Jamboree, FFA members were challenged to expand their comfort zones, set goals, and realize the importance of service. The Georgia state FFA officer team presented the conference and said they worked to show young agricultural education students the many benefits of becoming a member of the FFA.

“The Greenhand Jamboree is a wonderful opportunity for young FFA members,” said state FFA Vice President Jessie Sumner. “It’s important to start these student’s FFA careers with an engaging, interactive experience, and that is what this conference does.”

At the Jamboree, FFA members developed leadership skills such as teamwork and communication, took part in an FFA quiz competition, and met with more than 400 FFA members from across the state of Georgia.
