Effingham County High School members of the Future Business Leaders of America attended the State Leadership Conference on March 18-20 in Atlanta.

Students competed in accounting, economics, business procedures, desktop publishing, future business leader and banking and financial systems. Aaron Williams and Aysiah King placed ninth in banking and financial systems. Williams was ranked as fourth highest individual and earned the privilege of going to nationals in June in Orlando, Fla.

Williams placed seventh in future business leader.  He was also recognized as the winner of “Who’s Who in FBLA” for Region 3 and won an FBLA scholarship worth $250. A certificate was given to Williams for completing the Leader level of the Business Achievement Awards, and a certificate was awarded to Hannah Boyd for completing the Business level of the Business Achievement Awards.

Another highlight of the conference was being awarded the Silver Chapter of the Year Award.  This award is given to FBLA chapters that have completed the recommended activities throughout the school year. Along with the awards and competitions, the students also enjoyed the different leadership sessions that they attended and the networking with other FBLA students across the state of Georgia.

The mission of FBLA is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
