Armed with cameras and clipboards, students from the University of Georgia combed through the streets of Guyton at the end of last week. Their mission was to conduct a historic resources survey of the town.

The University of Georgia’s College of Environment and Design picks a community every year to survey, said Guyton city attorney Ramona Bartos — who has a master’s degree in historic preservation from UGA.

She called upon her connections with the school to bring in the team.
