Amy Ambrose of Rincon received the Mary Frances Duren Award for the disabilities and special needs Teacher of the Year 2011 at the Opening New Worlds Conference held at First Baptist Church in Tucker  on April 1. 

Ambrose has worked with First Baptist Church of Rincon in developing the Sonshine Ministry for special needs children, as well as various projects for special needs children in Effingham County.
