Rendi DeGenaro has been selected as Rincon Elementary’s April Parent of the Month.

She is employed at I’ll Be Your Best Friend Academy and is the mother of Kaden-Deen, Pre-K student at RES; Camryn, a fifth grader at RES;  Hannah, a sixth grader at Ebenezer Middle School; and A’Lexis, a ninth grade student at Effingham County High School.

DeGenaro was nominated for this award by Kaden-Deen’s teacher, Judy Perry. Perry stated DeGenaro was very involved in Kaden-Deen’s education, often helping with the classroom’s special events, and always working with Kaden-Deen to be certain he is growing academically, emotionally, and socially. She also commented they were a “very close-knit” family who enjoyed regular family outings and spending quality time together.

In a questionnaire interview, DeGenaro said their family of six has a very strong, loving relationship. She supports her children 100 percent in everything they undertake to achieve. She commented that one of her favorite parenting moments was “challenging her children to accomplish new things, and watching them smile when they succeed.” She admitted that her biggest parenting mistake was not listening to both sides of a situation before making a decision. She was often “swayed” before listening to her children’s positions.

Her ambitions for her children are to succeed in their chosen career paths, knowing they have her lifelong support and help for them to go far in life.

DeGenaro was recognized at the April 7 PTA meeting at RES with a certificate and gift.
