Three people, including two from Effingham County, are in custody following a drug investigation conducted by the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT).

CNT agents working undercover Friday morning learned several people were in the process of obtaining items needed for the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Agents identified the likely suspects and determined they were staying at a hotel in the area of Interstate 95 and Highway 204, according to the CNT.

After determining all the identified persons were in the hotel room, agents moved in, securing them without incident.  A search of the hotel room and one of the suspect’s vehicles resulted in the seizure of most of the items needed to manufacture methamphetamine and the seizure of marijuana.

CNT arrested William Davis, 25, of Guyton, Michael McGuinn, 25, of Bloomingdale and Paige Miller, 21, of Guyton. Both McGuinn and Miller were charged with possession of tools for the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Davis was charged with possession of marijuana. Friday’s arrest marks Davis’s third arrest by CNT.

Davis was wanted by both the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and Effingham County Sheriff’s Office at the time of his arrest.
