McKenna Thompson crowned Fair Queen

McKenna Thompson was crowned Miss Effingham County Fair 2012 in Saturday night’s pageant at the fairgrounds.

Thompson is a senior at South Effingham High School, as is first runner-up Megan Johnson. Thompson said she wants to attend pharmacy school after she graduates from SEHS.

Thirty-five girls and young ladies in eight age groups competed in the fair pageant on Saturday. Other winners included:

 11 months and under

Queen: Ermerson Nichole Verrier

First Runner-up: Emory ChevyAnn Brydon

Second Runner-up: Bristol Thomas

12-23 months

Queen: Emalyn Coleman

First Runner-up: Kaylan Bragg

Second Runner-up: Madison Holland

24-35 months

Queen: Kylee Rose Rhymes

First Runner-up: Grace Porter

Second Runner-up: Ansliegh Rae Poythress

4-6 years

Queen: Taylor Thomas

First Runner-up: Emma Grace Lowe

Second Runner-up: Allie Sheq

7-10 years

Queen: Eleanor Brinkley Carson

First Runner-up: Bella Brazell

Second Runner-up: Lacee Alexis Brigdon

12-14 years

Queen: Taiyauna Wilkerson

First Runner-up: Bailey Nicole Carson

Second Runner-up: Christina Sanchez

15-16 years

Queen: Denisha Monique Brickhouse

First Runner-up: Katherine L. Hamilton

Second Runner-up: Eliza Youmens
