Hall re-indicted for 2011 fatal wreck

POSTED: February 11, 2013 9:22 p.m.

An Effingham County grand jury has re-indicted a Guyton man for a 2011 crash that killed an Effingham teen and seriously injured three other people.

Wade Hall has been re-indicted for two counts of vehicular homicide, six counts of serious injury by vehicle, two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of exceeding maximum speed limits, reckless driving, following too closely and weaving over the roadway. Hall originally was indicted March 19, 2012, for the April 18, 2011, wreck at Midland and Courthouse roads that killed Josh Stafford.

Hall was arrested Oct. 24, 2011, and made bond, set at $27,000, on Nov. 14, 2011.

The Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office is seeking to have Hall’s bond revoked after he was arrested Feb. 4. Prosecutors say Hall violated his bond with his arrest on a possession and use of a drug-related object charge.

A hearing on the bond revocation will be held Feb. 26 in front of Judge William Woodrum.

Stafford died when the Honda Civic being driven by Hall collided with another vehicle near the intersection. Stafford was a passenger in the front seat.

Hall also was hurt in the accident and had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center.

Initial reports indicated that Hall was traveling north on Midland Road when his vehicle crossed into the path of an Acura sedan. Georgia State Patrol investigators said Hall’s speed at one point was 95 mph.
