ADA to present Diabetes Exposed

American Diabetes Association presents Diabetes Exposed on Feb. 23 at The Coastal Georgia Center for Continuing Education, 305 Fahm St. in Savannah, for all people affected by diabetes.


Doors will open at 8 a.m. with three sessions. Brittany Freeman, Southeast advocacy director for the American Diabetes Association, will talk about diabetes and the Affordable Care Act.


Diabetes Exposed is a half-day educational program designed to educate all people affected by this disease. The program is recommended for people with pre-diabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes, as well as family and friends of people with diabetes who have a desire to learn more about managing this common and serious disease. Free health screenings will include: blood pressure checks, blood glucose checks, and body mass index calculations.


Diabetes Exposed is open to the public, and there is a $5 charge to attend. Scholarships are available. To register for Diabetes Exposed,  print the registration form online at www.diabetes.org/savannah.
