Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies took one person into custody late Thursday afternoon and reportedly found two pounds of marijuana at a home on John Glenn Drive.

Deputies arrested Andrew Mikell, 19, of Rincon. Mikell was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug-related objects.

Deputies are currently searching for Holly Skipper, 23, of Rincon who is wanted for probation violation and Joseph Mikell, 24, of Rincon for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Deputies, executing a search warrant, found the drugs and six firearms at the home. It was the fifth time deputies have been to the home with a search warrant, according to the ECSO.

ECSO spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor said deputies went to the home with a warrant for a probation violation.

“They knocked on the door to make contact with the individual inside,” he said. “The door was open, and they heard someone on a speaker phone say, ‘don’t let the cops in until I can get my stuff.’”

Detectives then wrote up a search warrant, and a judge granted it. Once deputies went inside the home, they found six firearms and two pounds of pot, Ehsanipoor said.

One person was taken into custody, and a vehicle also was impounded.

The investigation is ongoing, Ehsanipoor added, and additional arrests could be made.
