Sheriff speaks to Sunrise Rotary

Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie discussed the necessity of the “Move Over Law” in Effingham County.  He also explained the taser safety and operational training that officers go through prior to being issued this highly effective weapon.

Sheriff McDuffie was also presented with a $2,000 donation to help the sheriff's department start the new “R.U.O.K” program that will benefit senior citizens and shut-ins.

Effingham Sunrise Rotary Club meets every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Guyton Christian Church activities building. Anyone interested in joining this organization can join them for breakfast next Tuesday. For more information, call Lonnie J. Pate at 1-888-395-0440.
