GSU to hold Southern Conference on Children

STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University’s Division of Continuing Education will hold the 27th annual Southern Conference on Children on Jan. 25 at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center.


The one-day conference is designed for childcare center directors and personnel, early childhood education teachers and paraprofessionals, family childcare providers and parents of young children.


Leaders in family and child studies, early childhood education and professionals in related fields will identify and discuss trends and techniques for working with young children.


This year’s featured speaker is Bright from the Start Commissioner Bobby Cagle. He leads the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. The agency is responsible for the early care and education of hundreds of thousands of children.


Conference fees are:
$35 if payment is received on or before Jan. 10 at 5 p.m.
$65 if payment is received after Jan. 10 at 5 p.m.
$75 at the door or if payment not received by Jan. 25 at 5 p.m.
$8.50 Chick-fil-A box lunch


The fee includes conference sessions and materials, breakfast and certificate.
