Randy and Theresia Newman of Brooklet announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Jeanette Ellnora Kellum, to Robert Eugene Lafond, son of Roger E. and Barbara Lafond Jr. of Rincon.

The bride elect is the daughter of the late Kenneth Kellum of Brooklet, formerly of Commerce. She is the granddaughter of Cordelia Stephens and the late Charles Stephens of Nicholson, Henrietta Kellum and the late A.R. Kellum of Commerce, and Patsy Newman and the late Lavon Newman of Brooklet. She is a graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. She is currently pursuing a Master’s of Accounting from Georgia Southern and is employed with the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts, Education Audit Division as a staff auditor.

The groom elect is the grandson of Claire Killian and the late Robert Killian of Sylacauga, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Roger E. Lafond Sr. of Dracut, Mass. He is a graduate of Effingham County High School and a 2007 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He earned his Engineer in Training license in 2007 and is currently employed with Dulohery Weeks in Savannah as a mechanical engineer.

Jeanette and Robert will marry Saturday, May 31, at St. Simons Island. Invitations will be sent.
