Mr. and Mrs. John Lugo of New Hartford, N.Y., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kia Marie, to John Barton Callaway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Callaway of Rincon.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rastani of Marcy, N.Y., and Mrs. Ada Lugo of Beaufort, S.C., and Mr. William Lugo of St. Petersburg, Fla. She is a 2003 graduate of South Effingham High School and a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.

The groom elect is the grandson of Mr. John Lamar Callaway and the late Mary Lucy Callaway of Covington and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Barton of Covington. He is a 2004 graduate of South Effingham High School and will be a 2008 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he will earn a bachelor’s degree in biology.

The wedding will take place at Woodlawn Plantation in Guyton on May 31, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. The couple is planning to live in Statesboro.
