Edenfield earns CLU designation

POSTED: June 6, 2008 5:01 a.m.

Talbert Edenfield has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU‚) professional designation from the American College of Bryn Mawr, Penn.

Candidates for the CLU‚ designation must complete a minimum of eight courses and 16 hours of supervised examinations. They must also fulfill stringent experience and ethics requirements. Over 95,000 individuals worldwide have been awarded the CLU‚ designation since the college was founded in 1927.

The college’s founder, University of Pennsylvania Wharton School professor, Solomon S. Huebner, PhD, created the CLU‚ program to meet the career education needs of men and women in life insurance and related financial services. The acquisition of this designation indicates Edenfield’s desire to provide expert advice on a broad range of financial topics including life insurance, pension planning, investments, estate planning and retirements needs.

Edenfield is a life long resident of Effingham County.  He has been in the financial services industry since 1994. When asked about his practice, his reply is, “he helps people save tax dollars and find money they may be transferring out of their Circle of Wealth either unknowingly or unnecessarily.”

Edenfield’s commitment to the community includes current service as a member of the Effingham Chamber of Commerce board of directors, member of the Daysprings Walk to Emmaus board of directors, and the past-president and current board member of the Rotary Club of Effingham.

The American College is the nation’s leading non-profit educator of professionals in the insurance and financial service industry. The college is a public charity founded in 1927 and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

The American College offers an array of specialized designation programs, Masters of Science degrees in several disciplines and customized continuing education programs for those pursing a career in financial services.
