Bonnie Dixon, president, and Rev. David Grandgeorge, secretary, of Effingham Sunrise Rotary Club, pass the gavel of fellowship to Karen Tanksley, president of the Rotary Club of Effingham.

The family of Rotary offers Rotary clubs and Rotarians throughout District 6920 a chance to support the first object of Rotary that is “to encourage and foster the development of acquaintance as an opportunity of service.” Friendship is the foundation, the rock on which Rotary service is built.

The Rotary Club of Effingham Sunrise meets at Guyton Christian Church at 7:30 a.m. every Tuesday.  The Rotary Club of Effingham meets at St. John's Lutheran Church at 12:30 p.m. every Thursday.

The two clubs participate in each other’s projects and social activities as well as community events.

If you'd like to join a group that places “Service Above Self,” find out more about becoming a Rotarian; call Lainie Jenkins at 663-0131 or ask any Rotary member.
