POSTED: July 3, 2007 5:02 a.m.

Hyundai Steel, in Chungnam, South Korea, has selected Temcor as the preferred vendor for a $16.8 million project covering two 130 meter iron ore blending tanks and three 120 meter iron ore storage tanks.

The structures will be designed to accommodate the conveyor systems used in handling the bulk materials.  The structures will be tower erected — each ring built at ground level and hoisted on a center tower system, using electro-pneumatic cable pullers, as each ring is completed.

The structures will ship in approximately 104 40-foot open top containers through the Port of Savannah beginning in early 2008.  This project alone will book solid the manufacturing facility located in Rincon for four months of the coming year.

Temcor, founded in 1964, designs, manufactures and erects architectural and environmental enclosures. These are primarily clear-span domes and related space frames fabricated mostly from aluminum. Temcor structures are used for covering tankage of all types as well as architectural applications such as arenas, gymnasiums, theaters and auditoriums.
