Jacqueline Brown represented Effingham County in the 8th annual Leadership Southeast Georgia program. Brown was awarded her diploma at the graduation ceremony held March 14 at the Nessmith-Lane Building at Georgia Southern University.

Brown was one of 15 participants in this year’s Leadership Southeast Georgia. The 10-county program was created in partnership with the Regional Advisory Council and GSU. Combining leadership training and regional networking opportunities, the program gathers emerging leaders, who were nominated by their own communities to attend six weekend sessions of training, networking and skill-building.

Brown, who also participated in the Effingham County Leadership program, serves as a school social worker for the Effingham County Board of Education. Her community involvement includes serving as the MLK committee chair for Habitat for Humanity. She also is a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

She received a Bachelor of Science in sociology and Master of Education and education specialist in educational leadership from GSU. Brown also received a Master of Social Work from Savannah State University.
