Effingham County Industrial Development Authority CEO John Henry announced the location of a new firm during the annual existing industry appreciation dinner Friday.

Linphos Chemical, a subsidiary of Sino-Linchem, will be opening a facility in the Effingham Industrial Park that will employ five to 10 people initially, Henry said.

“Hopefully, they will have many more employees in the future,” he said. “They have a very bright future.”

The company makes food-grade phosphoric acid and has a burgeoning market in the Caribbean, according to Henry.

“The port of Savannah opens that market up,” he said.

The company has pioneered a two-step process for making phosphoric acid, Henry added. Their Effingham facility will be the first American venture for the Nanning, China-based outfit.
