Career-growth skills from resume-writing to keeping your new job are the focus of Georgia Southern University workshops in Savannah and Statesboro this summer.
“Career Development I: Making Your Resume Work for You” runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on June 27 at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah, repeating July 11 and Aug. 22. Participants will write a résumé to meet the job description, summarize work history and improve chances of being interviewed.
Set for 1-3 p.m. in Savannah on June 27, July 11 and Aug. 22, “Career Development II: Acing the Interview” will address interview skills from wardrobe and presentation to planning ahead for tough questions.
“Career Development III: Finding Your Future Employer” runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on July 11 at the Nessmith-Lane Continuing Education Building in Statesboro, repeating Aug. 8 and Sept. 11. Topics include when and how to use newspapers, placement firms, friends and family networking, and more.
Set for 1-3 p.m. in Statesboro on July 11, Aug. 8 and Sept. 11, “Career Development IV: Keeping Your Job” will review short-term and long-term goals, from your first 90 days to your first five years in a new job or after a promotion.
Choose one workshop for $69 or both morning and afternoon same-day workshops for only $118.
