WEST POINT, N.Y. — Cadet James Thomas Morgan, son of Lt. Col. (ret.) and Mrs. Warren P. Morgan Jr. of Rincon, graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. on May 23.

Cadet Morgan was an honor graduate of Effingham County High School in 2005 and an Eagle Scout with Troop 165 from Rincon. While at West Point, he concentrated his studies in mathematical sciences, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree.

He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Air Defense Artillery branch and will report to Fort Bliss, Texas, for ADA Officer Basic and his first posting in late August. Prior to posting to Fort Bliss, he will attend a Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Benning for seven weeks.
