Sylvania man busted for meth

Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Sylvania man who was in possession of a large amount of pseudoephedrine and a quantity of methamphetamine.

Deputies arrested John Kenneth Joyner, 38, late Tuesday afternoon during an investigative stop on Hodgeville Road near Goshen Road.

Joyner has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine, conspiracy to commit a crime and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. Pseudoephedrine can be used in the making of methamphetamine.

Joyner is currently being held in the Effingham County Jail.

Effingham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor said more arrests are expected in the case.
