Snow covered just about everything in Effingham County on Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Coastal Georgia was graced with snow Friday night for the first time since 1989.

According to the reports to the National Weather Service, Effingham residents saw as much as 4 inches and at least 1 inch of snow, most of which melted by Saturday afternoon.

Reported totals are as follows: Rincon – 1 inch; Guyton – 2 inches; Springfield – 1.5-2 inches; and the northern part of Effingham may have seen between 3-4 inches.
