SUV wreck ejects driver, four children hurt

The driver of a Ford Explorer was flown to Memorial University Medical Center on Thursday afternoon after a single-vehicle accident on Highway 21 north near Clyo-Kildare Road.

According to reports, a tire on the vehicle blew, causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver was ejected. Four children in the vehicle were hurt and suffered what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The children were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

No one in the vehicle appeared to be wearing safety restraints, according to reports.
