Work on the traffic signal for Highway 21 and Ninth Street in Rincon is scheduled to begin Aug. 13, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The work on the intersection is expected to last five months, weather permitting. In an effort to minimize the impact on motorists, most of the work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
Minor delays can be expected, according to the DOT, as periodic lane closures will be necessary for the duration of the project. Those closures are necessary because of the proximity of the work to the road.
Motorists are advised to use extra caution in the work zone. Any questions on the project may be referred to the Georgia DOT office in Statesboro at (912) 871-1103.
