Cribbs wins special election

POSTED: March 21, 2013 9:07 p.m.

The Springfield City Council will have a full complement of members once Justin Cribbs is sworn into office.

Cribbs won a special election for the seat vacated by Troy Allen, beating Wanda Laning 49-7 Tuesday. Cribbs held a 23-2 advantage after early voting and received 26 of 31 ballots cast Tuesday.

Allen resigned from city council after he moved from the city to Clyo.

Katherine Pridgeon was appointed in December to fill the vacancy created when Jeff Ambrose moved out of the city limits.

Pridgeon’s seat will be up for election in November, as will the seats currently held by Charles Hinely, Kenny Usher and Mayor Barton Alderman.
