Two people were arrested Thursday after investigators found methamphetamine labs at their home.
The arrests resulted from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Suppression Team conducting a “long-term investigation into the manufacture of methamphetamine,” according to ECSO spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor.
Investigators received information that several people were manufacturing methamphetamine at a home on Interstate Circle in Bloomingdale, Ehsanipoor said.
At approximately 11 a.m. Thursday, investigators found three meth labs at a residence belonging to Melissa Cone, 26, and George Daniel Driggers, 34, both of Bloomingdale. Investigators recovered three labs, a quantity of finished methamphetamine, and ingredients used to create additional labs.
Driggers has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and unlawful dumping of egregious materials.
Cone is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
Additional arrests are expected, Ehsanipoor said. Driggers and Cone are being held in the Effingham County Jail.
