Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Usher of Springfield are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Danielle Usher, to Zachary Dean Nelson, son of Mr. Larry Nelson and Ms. Taylor Smith of Guyton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Malphus and JoAnn Malphus and Helen Usher and the late Mr. Delma Usher of Springfield. The bride is a 2008 honor graduate of Effingham County High School and is currently studying finance at Georgia Southern University and is currently employed at Sweet Peas in Rincon.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Zakula of Wichita, Kan. He is a 2008 graduate of South Effingham High School. He is employed at Gulfstream Aerospace and is a member of the 165th Georgia Air National Guard.

The wedding, as well as the reception, will be held at the Tybee Island Shrine Club on Sept. 22, 2012, at 6:30 p.m.
