Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edwards of Clyo are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shana Marie Edwards, to Derrick Winship Downs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Downs of Claxton.


The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Norma Exley and the late Mell Exley of Clyo and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Burns of Clyo. Shana is now employed with the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency in Sylvania as a program technician.


The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. E.W. Daniel and the late Wenona Daniel of Claxton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Kick) Downs of Claxton. Derrick is employed with Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah as a senior manager.


Shana and Derrick will be married in March 2013 and will reside in Guyton.
