Turner 65th

Mary and William “Fette” Turner of Guyton will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary June 29.


The couple met at a popular Daffin Park skating rink in Savannah. They were married June 29, 1947, at the home of the late Rev. George E. Clary Sr. in Savannah.


Formerly of Rincon, Mr. and Mrs. Turner operated the Standard Service Center on Highway 21 in the 1970s and were active members of the Rincon United Methodist Church. Mr. Turner, a diesel mechanic for 48 years, retired in 1992. Mrs. Turner, a homemaker, is the former Mary Margaret Kight. Since moving to Guyton, they are active members of Pineora Baptist Church.


The couple has three children: Brenda (Larry) Pack of Ellabell, Ann (Clifton) Stone of Guyton and Joyce Broughan of Richmond Hill. They also have eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
