Concerted Services applies for weatherization grant

Moving forward with a goal to invest in lives and transform communities, Concerted Services, Inc. is applying for a weatherization grant with the Department of Agriculture’s Rural Housing Service.  The purpose of this submission is to meet more housing needs in Southeast Georgia. According to the grant’s notice of funding, a statement of activities must be made available to the public.

The grant submission’s statement of activities will be made available from Aug. 5-19 at the Web site at www.concertedcservices.org.  Also, a paper copy will be at each of the service center sites in the following counties:  Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Bulloch, Candler, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Effingham, Evans, Jeff Davis, Long, Pierce, Tattnall, Toombs, Ware and Wayne.

Concerted Services, Inc. is the local Community Action Agency which operates service centers in each of the 18 counties in their service area in Southeast Georgia.  Concerted Services’ mission is to empower people to become self-sufficient by instilling hope through advocacy, partnerships, and services that promote economic and family stability.

As a private, non-profit organization originally established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight America’s War on Poverty, it is one of 20 Community Action Agencies in Georgia as well as one of approximately 1,000 such agencies across the nation.
