The Savannah Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (SDCCW)  recently held its annual convention in Savannah. In keeping with the National Council of Catholic Women’s Campaign for Human Dignity, the Savannah Deanery CCW chose the Effingham County Victim Witness Assistance Program as the local charity to help.

The “Pack a Purse” project sponsored by this organization provides victims of abuse with a purse containing personal items such as lotions, toiletries and books, which are helpful when the victim suddenly finds herself living in a shelter or hotel temporarily. The CCW convention attendees donated over 100 purses packed with useful items.
