Daisy Girl Scout Troop 30387 of Effingham County recently donated food to GLOW Ministries as part of their community outreach. The girls learned that GLOW stands for God Loves Orphans and Widows and is a non-profit organization that provides food to local families in need of some extra help.

GLOW not only offers food, but also community outreach programs and a monthly book club to its participants. The Girl Scouts took a tour of the building and the room where the food is stored and observed the process of preparing the buckets to be given out.

The troop was given a portion of money from their cookie sales and chose to donate some to this ministry, and also brought in canned and dry goods on their own.
