Scouts, church present haunted trail

POSTED: October 25, 2012 7:48 p.m.

Boy Scouts Troop 691, Girl Scout Troop 30078 and Zion Lutheran Church are teaming to create the Haunted Trail on the nature trail and surrounding areas in the Zion Lutheran Park. The Haunted Trial will be open tonight and Saturday, and the spooking will begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. both nights.

The trail is about 400 feet long, and should take about 30 minutes to go through. Guides who take groups of six to eight through at a time on foot are provided.

The trail is broken into two sections: the first part is less scary for younger guests and the last half is for the more adventurous.

There is a hay ride from the field adjacent to the church (parking area) to the beginning of the trail. The trail is free and donations are accepted for the church’s youth and scouting programs. Concessions also are available. There will be a playground and “Scooby Doo” movies will be shown on a big outdoor screen (all free).

The church is at the intersection of Highways 17 and 30.
