The United Way Prize Patrol paid a surprise visit to the Effingham Herald to present a Yeti cooler to office manager Karen Stephens.

During the United Way’s 12-week fundraising campaign in Effingham County, anyone who attended one of the campaign presentations could enter their name for a chance to win one of 12 prizes donated by local merchants.

The United Way of Effingham County surpassed its goal of raising $302,007 in this year's campaign.
