Harrison Thomas Charles Hall was awarded his Eagle Badge at an Eagle Scout court of honor Dec. 29 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Hall has camped for more than 80 nights, completed 200 miles to earn the National Outdoor Award for Cycling and represented the Boy Scouts of America in his uniform on his eighth-grade Washington, D.C., trip to lay the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Hall has earned 50 merit badges and is a member of the Order of the Arrow.

For his Eagle Scout project, he planned, cleared and landscaped his church’s yard and built a new bench for its courtyard. He chose this project to give back to Rev. Patrick Finley, also an Eagle Scout, and the church congregation that has supported his scouting career.

Hall is a ninth-grader at Effingham County High School, where he is involved with the Air Force JROTC. He was recently promoted to staff sergeant and is the senior patrol leader for Troop 650.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hall of Guyton, formerly of Algonquin, Ill. In September 2011, Hall transferred from Troop 369 of Lake in the Hills, Ill., to Troop 650 under the leadership of Scoutmaster James “Benji” Nelms.
