Anisa Grantham of Rincon Recovery Resources and staff sponsored a food drive during January and encouraged their clients and staff to donate canned food items.

Clients and staff collected more than 200 food items which will be distributed through the FORCE (Food OutReach Co-op of Effingham) to six local food pantries. In 2012, FORCE pantries (Abundant Life Church Pantry, First Christian Church of Rincon’s Pantry, GLOW Ministries, God’s Mission House, Guyton’s Fill’in Station and Manna House), provided food assistance services to more than 900 Effingham families each month.

Call Archie Jenkins at United Way (826-5300 or 663-2286) if your organization would be interested in sponsoring a food drive.
