Norma Jean Morgan, president of Historic Effingham Society, presented a sketch of the Pilgrim Baptist Normal and Industrial Institute to Betty Renfro of the Effingham Museum at the HES summer quarterly meeting Aug. 4. WiIliam Hunter, left, a Guyton resident, had originally sketched the complex from his childhood memories and Bill Amos created the sketch. The Institute was located on the current Pilgrim Walking Trail at Guyton.
