Effingham County High School has been chosen again to receive a $2,500 grant from the Peace Officers’ Association of Georgia for partnering with them in their Alcohol Free Prom Night effort.

Each year, the POAG selects 10 schools to receive these grants and awards the junior class with the money, which they match, to host activities promoting a safe, drug- and alcohol-free prom during the week leading up to the dance. “Effingham County kids have always been great, and we hope they’ll have a big time at the prom, and mama will be glad to see them the next morning,” said POAG representative John Conley.

In addition to spreading awareness on the dangers of alcohol and drug use, ECHS decided to include texting and driving to their Alcohol Free Prom Night campaign.
