Claxton awarded Plum Creek scholarship

Plum Creek has awarded a $2,000 scholarship to an Effingham County high school graduate.  Plum Creek annually awards scholarships to exemplary high school seniors who plan to continue their education after graduation.  The scholarships recognize students who demonstrate academic excellence, involvement in school and community activities, and overall achievement throughout their high school careers.  William Claxton is the recipient for Effingham County.

Claxton is a 2010 graduate of South Effingham High School and plans to attend Savannah Tech.  He was an honor graduate of SEHS. He is the son of Andrew and Dorothy Claxton.

This year, Plum Creek awarded 111 scholarships to high school seniors around the country totaling $145,000.  In Georgia, 36 students were awarded 2011 Plum Creek scholarships totaling $24,000.
