SEHS dance team members headed to Disney

The South Effingham High School dance team recently earned high marks in an elite Universal Dance Association camp, receiving a Superior UDA Award for their ability to learn skills and routines rapidly.


In addition, four members of the SEHS team will dance in the Disney World Parade on Thanksgiving Day after being named to the UDA All-American Dance Team.


During the three-day camp, the girls learned dance routines, worked on basic and intricate moves and participated in team-building activities.


Throughout the three days, six South Effingham girls with top scores were observed for a chance to participate in evaluations for the UDA All-American Dance Team. Those six then competed for the opportunity to dance with the UDA All-American Team in Orlando, Fla., or London, England.


Four SEHS dancers — Shelby Duncan, Holly Henson, Heather Rammoser and Brandy Roberts — were chosen as all-americans.


They chose to dance as part of the UDA All-American Team in Orlando at the Disney World Parade on Thanksgiving Day. They will spend a week learning the routines and working with UDA members to enhance their dance abilities, then will dance in the parade with a group of more than 500 girls from across the nation.
